KOTA KINABALU, Oct 27 — Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR Sabah) N.19 Likas Division Chief, Kent Yong, has denied rumours circulating that he has left the party.
Kent described the allegations as false and malicious, stressing that he remains firmly loyal to STAR and fully supports the leadership of STAR Sabah President, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan, in championing the rights and interests of the people of Sabah.
“I am still with STAR Sabah and remain steadfast in supporting our President’s struggle. Claims that I have left the party are false and baseless,” he said in a media statement today.
Kent also took seriously the President’s earlier remarks about certain quarters allegedly attempting to “buy over” division leaders with monetary offers to quit the party.
“I strongly reject this disgusting money politics. As a businessman and a principled party member, I will never compromise my integrity and loyalty for personal gain,” he stressed.
He further called on all STAR members and supporters to stand united and uphold the spirit of solidarity in facing any attempts to divide the party.
“STAR Sabah N.19 Likas Division will continue to stand firmly behind our President. We will face all challenges together in the spirit of solidarity and in the pursuit of Sabah’s cause,” he added.
